The IGB issued a statement pertaining to the licensing of Operators: “The Illinois Gaming Board has begun the process of issuing licenses to Terminal Operator licensees. This process is expected to continue over a period of several months. There are many applications still being investigated and we expect a significant number of additional Terminal Operators to be licensed in the near future. No negative inference should be drawn at this time if a Terminal Operator licensee applicant has not yet been acted upon by the Illinois Gaming Board.”

There has been no indication as to when Location Applications will be available. Stay tuned…

After much anticipation, the state of Illinois awarded the Central Communications System to Scientific Games on Tuesday, November 22. The other bidders for the Central System now have a week to dispute the state’s decision. Our hope is that there will be no dispute or if there is a dispute that it will be quickly dismissed. Following the dispute period, the state will have up to 30-days to complete a contract with Scientific Games. This is a major step in getting the Video Gaming Terminals operational in Illinois.

The Illinois Gaming Board held it August video gaming meeting yesterday. Several manufacturers and distributors were issued their licenses for video gaming. Good news for all of us, things are progressing.
The Chairman of the IGB has issued a comment concerning some of the reports about people phoning locations posing as IGB representatives. This could be construed as a criminal act. If you receive a call from someone representing themselves as a representative of the Illinois Gaming Board or from the state of Illinois and they claim they will give you gaming equipment, take down all information you can and then please notify us, immediately. We will pass the information on to the proper authorities.

The Illinois Gaming Board has published the agenda for their August 9, 2011 meeting. There will be discussions about licensing for manufacturers and distributors. It is not certain if they will be issued at this meeting, but we are hopeful. Stay tuned!

The Illinois Gaming Board has issued a public notice concerning calls potential Video Gaming Licensed Locations from individual claiming to be from the Illinois Gaming Board. It appears to be a scam to get locations to sign contracts. Please review their notice and make sure you trust the operator you work with. We will try to keep you up to date with any further information we receive.
